Poka Yio ^^ Bloated; Athens and its cultural digestion system

June 18, 2023 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Bloated

Abdominal bloating is a short-term disease that affects the gastrointestinal tract. Bloating is generally characterized by an excess buildup of gas, air, or fluids in the stomach. A person may have feelings of tightness, pressure, or fullness in the stomach; it may or may not be accompanied by a visibly distended abdomen. Wikipedia

The Athenian Art Scene has had a continuous evolution during the last fifteen years. Led by the artists themselves, self-organized and DIY, the art scene became an icebreaker for the upcoming, inhuman, tidal wave of city transformation. Athens is now adorned by dozens of independent initiatives and art spaces, a façade that draws even more artists, theorists and…developers. At the same time this scene has no sustainability. The stream of fresh air has already turned into a bloating of gases.
